Today I can, for the FIRST time in my life, say I HATE something. That something is a Political Party. This is a Political party that is so far away from Constitutional Conservatives that I actually felt ill. You know that burning and churning feeling. That feeling that comes right before you PUKE all over the place. Well, I felt that when I realized that a group of people, so far removed from TRUE Texas Conservatives, at least I hope they are, have written a platform paper that should not only serve as what not to write to draw voters to your platform, it serves as a total shame to that party which I can no longer call mine. At this point, between the national party and the state party’s I am very sure I am going to see everyone but the Progressives and Rats leave in vast numbers.
You would think that a party that is so far from Constitutional Conservatives would be liberals, but it’s not. The party that is leaving the majority of Americans behind is not the DNC. It is the GOP, The Grand Old Party, the Republican Party. As I was reading on a community site where someone said that the Texas Republican Party is going after Gays and Lesbians, to which I naturally defended my Great State and the Great States Republican Party’s until they presented me with a copy of the “2010 STATE REPUBLICAN PARTY PLATFORM.” This was paraded into the conversation and the person suggested that I turn to page 7 and begin reading. So I did what I was not told to do, I went to the source and downloaded the official copy from the Republican Party of Texas’s Website, https://www.1888932-2946.ws/TexasGOP/E-ContentStrategy/userfiles/2010_RPT_PLATFORM.pdf , which I hope you will take the time to do.
I would encourage you not to start at page 7, but at page 1 and move through it, and absorb the fine gentle smell of snobbery, of elitism, of someone that was caught with their pants down with the wrong person, of religion gone amuck, and of people so full of hate that they would damage our state’s reputation and standing in the American Community as a whole just to put their Gay and Lesbian phobia's and bashing thoughts into a platform that should be on the political landscape that our country is in today. No, no, they have led the Republican Party and the Current Governor of Texas over the cliff following their Pied Piper Platform Committee. It would have been nicer to call in Doctor Kevorkian or Death himself to put the final blows into what was once a Grand Old Party. If I remember correctly it use to be called the Gay Old Party. Sorry for the insults to Gay men and women who read this, if anyone really ever reads my crap.
I moved to Texas in 1979 after graduating from High School in Memphis, TN because my Father’s job took him to Richardson, TX and he moved most of my family, except the ones in college , to Plano, TX where I went to Jr. College and finally into the Navy. I also remember being 13 years old and working on a campaign for some republican running for the Senate seat and I started to learn about the Grand Old Party. From those days to this I have defended each step down the road to demise that this party has made and now it is time that party leaves the political landscape for the new revolutionary Party known simply as the Conservative Americans and maybe one day the Conservative American Party, who know, I might just get famous for naming the next political party in the United States.
If you think about it, the Republican Party started to leave the building once President Ronald Reagan left office and finally closed the doors to Conservatives and opened the doors to the Progressives during the Bush, Clinton, and Bush W years, so about 16 years it took, but Conservatism left the political party scene and staying with the Republican Party is not the answer. We have seen the rise of the Progressives, as one talk show host says and the rise of socialism in our country. Funny how those two are coming up together at the same time.
I have said this before and I will say it again, it is going to take citizens, and I do mean Advanced Citizenship Members of this country, to step up and say, “I don’t want to be in this fight, but here I am, where can you use my help, Sir/Ma’am?” So coming into the Fourth of July Weekend I am going to ask my fellow Texans and Americans, are you a citizen, or are you an Advanced Citizenship Member, ready to stand up against both the party’s.
Are you ready to stand up and be counted? Can you say, “This is my country, my Constitution, my State, and I am not willing to look the other way any longer while anyone try’s to hurt or defame the character of another fellow American because of their color, sexual preference, what boat they came over on, or what their religion is. They are Americans and they have a right to exist. They have a right to have Freedom and Liberty. They are included in our Constitution which starts off as “We the PEOPLE”. They are my friends and neighbors and YOU Writers of the Republican Party of Texas Platform can go jump, because you no longer exist as anything but a hate mongering Progressive attempt to damage the Country and People that I love.” In the end, we will be here and “it” will be gone.
Can Conservatives make a difference in the 2010 elections? Yes we can. There is a thing called a “Write-In Vote”, where each person has the right to clearly write in the person you want to elect and cast your vote for him. It can happen. Find and ask the conservatives in your community who will be the best leader for your state, for you in congress, for you in the senate and ask that person to step up and help win our freedom.
Yes, we will not know winners until days, if not weeks in some places if every Conservative groups together with others and Choose who they want and start a campaign to get out the vote for the Peoples Conservative Candidate. It is a bit old fashioned, but it can work. Oh, in states where it is electronic, just say you want to use a paper ballot. If they do not have one, they have to give you the ability to enter a candidate of your choice.
So, if you can’t tell.
