Sounds like a very simple question, doesn't it? But in reality there is nothing simple about the question. In fact, I don't think many of you can sum it up in one or two decent size paragraphs. I know I can't. What does it mean "To Be An American?" I am not going to write my answer here for now. In fact, I will give my answer on Friday. What does it mean "to be an American" to J Albert. I think this question is very important as we go forward into this next cycle of American History.
I don't want philosophy or deep thoughts. I want you to put into your own words what it means to YOU to be an American. Not your neighbor, not your teacher or professor or any other person in the world. This is an answer only you can give. I don't care if you post it or not. OK so yes, I do hope you will post your answer.
Still, prove me wrong as to how many paragraphs it will take you. I am anticipating a full editorial length of 3 or 4 pages in length for mine, but you may be better at this than I am. I will not erase anyone's answer unless it is vile, off topic, or disrespectful. You will need a Google Account to reply, but that is a simple thing to remedy.
I hope you will answer this one because it is not going to go away. I am going to continue to ask this question every month here and post a twitter every day on this topic.
From the Desk of J Albert
